A note from Lucy – July 2022

Lucy Byrom – Operations Manager

As always, there has been a huge amount of positive change within Longhurst since my last blog in March; which I’m pleased to share with you below.

4th birthday!

Firstly, Longhurst celebrated their fourth birthday and to celebrate with our clients, professional connections and colleagues we have just planted 500 trees through our strategic partnership with MoreTrees.

This will sequester an estimated 150.00 tonnes in the future, which is the equivalent to 366,450.00 miles in a standard car.

As we enter our 5th year as a growing and successful financial planning practice, we’d like to thank our wonderful clients, households, and professional connections for their continued support.

Professional Adviser Awards 2022

Best Client Engagement Award – Professional Adviser Awards 2022

Longhurst also won, for the 2nd year in a row, the UK’s ‘Best Client Engagement’ category at the Professional Adviser Awards 2022.

The award recognises our continued approach to delivering a truly human-focused financial planning service to the clients and households who employ us.

It’s yet again a very big award and acknowledges that client outcomes truly sit at the core of everything we do here at Longhurst.

Coaching Corner

From our earlier success of providing our clients access to an Executive Coach, we’re now expanding this service to include a total of 3 different coaching areas:

  • Retirement/Transitional support,
  • Leadership, and
  • Relationship.

We will be recording videos with each coach to help introduce them to you and are also working on a process which will incorporate time with each coach inclusive of the fee you, as a client, pay Longhurst.

MyLonghurst Client App

MyLonghurst has had some updates over the past few months, including:

Client profile and digital factfind (launching soon for Longhurst clients)

  • The new client profile enables clients to update their personal and financial details via their portal or app. Clients can complete a Fact Find prior to a review meeting or as part of an on-boarding process.
  • Ability to access via face recognition

Updated document functionality and display

  • MoneyInfo have refreshed the client view of documents and folders to provide a better client experience, particularly where you have shared navigation for related parties.

Whilst they’re continuing to update their digital fact find, our internal plans are to start utilising more of what the app offers – including the ability to accept/confirm our advice report to clients with a click of a button instead of e-signing via Docusign.

MoreTrees partnership

Finally, as you might be aware, we became a certified partner of MoreTrees back in 2020.

MoreTrees is an organisation set up to empower both individuals and businesses to offset their carbon footprint.

We’ve contributed a current total of 1,374 trees planted in just over a year – which I’m sure you’ll agree is a fantastic achievement.

We continue to plant trees for new clients, client birthdays and random occasions (such as our birthday celebration, as above).

Any questions

As I sign off my third article for Longhurst, I just want to say that if you have any questions in relation to any of the above, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me or one of the team.
