Schools Project a Success!
We’ve previously written about our commitment to inspiring the next generation of students, through our partnership with both Silverstone Park, Gaia Innovation, and 3 local colleges and schools.
On the 12th December 2018 our very own Chris Broome attended his first event at the Kingsthorpe College in Northampton.
Chris’ challenge, if he chose to accept it, was to inspire 30 x 6th form students (studying finance), and to come out of the session alive!

I am a regional Education Champion for the Personal Finance Society, so when offered, I jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with the Silverstone Park Schools Programme.
I presented to 30 x 6th form students, where we spent two hours discussing my career to date, what I do as a job, the importance of examinations, and how proper financial planning can help people live the life they truly want to live.
We then played a video board game (called Discover Fortunes) which enables students to take on the role as a financial planner to a number of fictional cartoon characters. The game encourages team work; collaboration; listening skills; and the importance of financial literacy in the workforce.
We also spent time talking about my profession as a career choice; the life it can provide for you; and the adventures it could lead to – including becoming your own boss.
I was humbled to learn that I/we received 100% positive experience feedback from the students, with 2 of them privately emailing me for work experience.
I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and look forward to attending future events.
